Belarus sportsmen had the same problem. “Morally it was difficult to process it all. I told him to stay in Almaty. He booked the tickets to go back to Uralsk for July 13. I checked the website at 1 a.m. and saw the first results. l called him and told him to cancel the tickets. I said: “You are going to the Olympics!” The training camp started in the Czech Republic on the 10th of July; Vitaliy joined the team later. Everything was decided literally in one day: he was accredited and received the Olympics outfit,” senior race walk coach of West-Kazakhstan oblast and a Anichkin’s personal coach Rustam Kuvatov said. The sportsman still has time to prepare for the Olympics. He is currently at the training camp in the Czech Republic. The competition - 50km distance - is scheduled for August 11. The sportsman will, however, be very pressured. Chasing the Olympics license, he has already performed two 50km races in four months. The optimal standard is to walk 50 km once every 6 months. The 30th Olympic Games will be held in London on July 27 to August 12.
