Kazakhstan representative in female boxing, 23-y.o. Marina Volnova, could not get into the final of the London Olympics after losing to 17-y.o. American Claressa Shields, Vesti.kz reports. Earlier the boxer won over the world champion Savannah Marshall in quarterfinal and Kenyan Elizabeth Andiego in round of 16. Marina Volnova came to boxing 7 years ago (she used to be a judoka before). Her achievements include a gold medal at the Asian Championship in 2010 and a silver medal at the World Championship in 2010. She is a four-time winner of Kazakhstan Boxing Championship. She was born in Kazalinsk (Kyzylorda oblast). Mike Tyson is her favorite boxer.
