Kazakhstani Greco-Roman wrestler Nursultan Tursynov has become a silver medalist of the Asian Wrestling Championships in Qatar, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
Tursynov competing in -85 kg weight division lost to Uzbek wrestler Rustam Asskalov in the final.
Another Kazakhstani wrestler Azamat Dumbirov (-71 kg) lost 2:5 to Ridong Zhang from China in the fight for the bronze medal.
Earlier, a freestyle wrestler from Kazakhstan Daulet Niyazbekov (-61 kg) won gold at the Championship.
The women’s team of Kazakhstan won 5 medals. Elmira Syzydykova (-69 kg) won a silver medal, while Tatyana Amanzhol-Bakatyuk (-48 kg), Aiym Abdildina (-58 kg) and Yekaterina Larionova (-63 kg) brought bronze medals.
The Asian Wrestling Championship took place in Doha, Qatar from May 6 to 10. The next championship opens in Bangkok, Thailand on February 17, 2016.
