Tengrinews.kz - Marat Omarov has become the new head of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF).

On December 20, an extraordinary XXVII electoral conference of the KFF was held, where the new head of Kazakhstan football was determined. Marat Omarov was elected president of the KFF by a majority vote - 34 votes out of 36.

It should be noted that three days before the elections of the KFF president, a series of candidates began to leave the race. On December 17, 34-year-old referee Nargis Magau announced her withdrawal from the race, and on December 18, former president of Aktobe Erlan Dzhamantayev refused to participate in the elections. The last candidate who refused to continue the election race was former goalkeeper of the Kazakhstan national team David Loria. As a result, three candidates competed for the post of head of the KFF: manager Altai Daumov, journalist Erbol Kairov and chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition Marat Omarov.
