Kazakhstan weight-lifter Maya Maneza won a silver medal in the World Championship in Paris, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing an official website of the Championship. The 63 kg Kazakh weight-lifter lifted 248 kilograms in total after two exercises. She yielded seven kilos to Russian Svetlana Tsarukayeva who won the gold medal in her league. Chinese Xiaofang Ouyang got the bronze medal lifting 246 kilograms in total. It is worth noting that Maneza is a two-time world champion and some experts expected her to become one of the gold winners of the Championship in Paris. She was third after the first exercise, when she lost eight kilos to Svetlana Tsarukayeva in snatch. Maneza had good chances to beat the Russian in clean and jerk and win the third gold medal in her sports career. She lifted her record 147 kilograms in a winning attempt. The sportswoman and national team trainers started rejoicing expecting the first place, but the judges didn't score this weight. Kazakhstan weight-lifters are expected to win several more medals in different weight leagues, especially two-time world champion Svetlana Podobedova and Olympic champion Ilya Ilyin who haven't perform in France yet.
