President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation Timur Kulibayev has been elected Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA), KazTAG reports citing a press-service of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation. "The decision to appoint Kulibayev APB Vice-President of AIBA was made at the first meeting of the Executive Board of AIBA Professional Boxing (APB) on March 21, 2012 in AIBA headquarters (Lausanne, Switzerland). The President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation was also made a member of AIBA Executive Board," the message states. According to information, Kulibayev was put forth by AIBA President Ching-Kuo Wu who noted that President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation was the first person to support AIBA's innovative project on development of professional boxing. In his letter to Kulibayev Ching-Kuo Wu stressed that "he is glad to approve the decision of APB Executive Board and to see one of the boxing leaders as a member of AIBA Executive Board". "I am confident that your activities in boxing will have a huge impact on development of this sport that is well loved around the world," AIBA president's letter states. AIBA, the international boxing association, was established in 1920. It currently includes 195 national federations. The head office is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. Ching-Kuo Wu is its current president.
