Khrustaleva will strengthen Kazakhstan team in Germany Biathlon World Championship
Yelena Khrustaleva will take part in the Biathlon World Championship that will take place in German Ruhpolding, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Andrey Karlin, Kazakhstan Biathlon Federation president. “Yes, we have included Khrustaleva into the national team and she will compete in the World Championship.
At present the complete team is training in Almaty and she will travel to Germany on February 26, where she will continue training prior to the Championship,” Karlin said. The event will be held on March 1-11 in Ruhpolding.
Khrustaleva is a silver Voncouver Olympic Games prize-winner. She has skipped the current World Cup because of injury.
However, when interviewed the athlete said that she doesn’t have any health problems right now. Kazakhstan biathletes have won no awards in the current season in Khrustaleva’s absence. The biathlete won two gold medals in Almaty Asian Games last year.
