The Kazakh tennis player clinched the first set with a score of 7:5.
In the second set, which lasted 45 minutes, Zarina Diyas beat the German tennis professional scoring 6:3.
Throughout her career, it was the second time Diyas won over a tennis player from Top 10 of the WTA rating with the first one dating back to 2010, when she defeated a top seed and then World No. 7 Serbian Jelena Janković in the second round of the Premier-level Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
