Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in semi-finals of Brazil Tennis Cup

Kazakhstan tennis player Yaroslava Shvedova has made a breaking entry into the semi-finals of the WTA tournament in Brazil, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. Yaroslava Shvedova, 26 won over Romanian tennis player Alexandra Cadantu with the score of 6:3, 6:3 in the quarterfinals. Shvedova is in the 79th line of the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association, and the Romanian athlete is in the 62nd line in the world ranking. They never player against each over before. "I'm very happy," Shvedova said. "Last year I had a long break with an injury, the longest break of my life without playing tennis actually, and it hasn't been easy to come back. So I'm happy I could put myself together and bring my game back. They've all been tough matches this week - it hasn't been easy at all - but I'm improving with each game and hopefully going forward I can keep playing like this." Kazakhstan's tennis player will face Garbine Muguruza Blanco of Spain, the world's No.36, in the semi-finals. Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan also made it into the doubles of the tournament in Brazil. Together with Spanish Anabel Medina Garrigues she beat the deo of Vania King (US) and Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova (Czech Republic) with the score of 7:6, 6:1. The Brazil Tennis Cup kicked off on February 23 and will last till March 1.
