Kazakhstani boxer Isa Akberbayev improves his standing by 30 lines after winning GBC title

Kazakhstani boxer Isa “Bumblebee” Akberbayev has defeated Argentinian boxer Ruben Angel Mino in a fight for the vacant Global Boxing Council (GBC) cruiserweight title in Germany, Tengrinews reports citing  Vesti.kz.

Kazakhstani boxer Isa “Bumblebee” Akberbayev has defeated Argentinian boxer Ruben Angel Mino in a fight for the vacant Global Boxing Council (GBC) cruiserweight title in Germany, Tengrinews reports citing  Vesti.kz.

The victory did not only bring the title to Akberbayev, but also took the fighter 30 lines up in the Boxing Rec rating. Currently, Bumblebee resides on the 55th place of the cruiserweight rating. His opponent lost 24 positions and landed on the 117th place.

On March 1, Akberbayev KOed Mino at 2:36 of the first round. During the first round, Mino hit the canvas three times. The IBO Intercontinental cruiserweight Akberbayev claimed the GBC title.

This marked, Akberbayev’s 15th victory and 11th KO in the professional ring. Akberbayev is ranked the 2nd in Kazakhstan after cruiserweight Beibut Shumenov.
