60 yachtsmen from all over Kazakhstan gathered at Kapshagai lake for Kazakhstan Cup yachting sport tournament, Tengrinews.kz reports citing head coach of the team of the National School of Top Sportsmanship Vladimir Mudrichenko. “The tournament is held for men and women in eight yacht classes. Six teams from Almaty, Mangistau and South Kazakhstan oblasts, as well as from Balkhash and Kapshagai are taking part in the contest. The tournament is divided into classes by yacht types and crew, singles or doubles,” Mudrichenko said. The tournament started on July 3 and will last until July 12. 12 races are scheduled to be held to define the winners. The weather, however, has a big effect on the tournament. So, on July 6 the yachts were not even set afloat because there was no wind. According to the tournament rules, sportsmen have to pass at least 8 of 12 races for the winner to be defined.
