Kazakhstan will host 2016 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

The AIBA meeting took place in Istanbul where Kazakhstan bid to host the Championship along with Russia, the UK and China. In the end, 18 out of 20 members of the AIBA voted for Kazakhstan and only two gave their votes to China. In 2016, boxers will be competing to qualify for the Rio Olympics.

In 2013 Kazakhstan’s Boxing Federation hosted AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championship in Almaty. The success at the championship proved the Federation’s capability to host large scale international events on a high level.

This year, Women’s Championship will take place in South Korean Jeju City from November 13 to November 25.
