Kazakhstan tennis professional Yaroslava Shvedova has made it into the history of tennis. She won a set against Italian Sara Errani in London Wimbledon’s third round without missing a point on June 30. Shvedova defeated Errani 6:0, 6:4, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Gazeta.ru. This is called a “golden set” in professional tennis (a set that is won without dropping a single point). It happened only once in the history of tennis, when American Bill Scanlon won over Brazilian Marcos Hocevar (6:2, 6:0) on February 22, 1983 at the tournament in the city of Delray Beach, Florida. This record entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Shvedova’s name was on everyone's lips on yet another occasion a little while ago. The Kazakhstan tennis professional sensationally slammed into Roland Garros quarterfinals by defeating the current winner of the tournament Chinese Na Li. Shvedova moved 80 lines up in the Women Tennis Association (WTA) rating thanks to this victory. At present Yaroslava is ranked 62nd.
