Kazakhstan's Arman Smailov has won a stage in the World Rally Championship in Australia, Kolesa.kz reports. "The 10th stage of the World Rally Championship in Australia finished on September 15. The crew of Arman Smailov and Andrey Rusov won the race in the WRC2 Production Cup category," the message said. The four-day race wasn't easy for the racers. On the second day of the race the crew encountered technical problems. During the third day the Kazakh-Russian crew caught up with the stage's leaders and by the end of the day they managed to take the lead and win the day's special. On the final day of the stage on September 15 Smailov and Rusov retained their leading position and won the stage in the WRC2 Production Cup category. "Everything is good! The task has been accomplished and we have left all the difficulties behind us," the Kazakhstan racer said after the stage. The world championship started on September 12 in Australia. The crew of Arman Smailov and Andrey Rusov are driving Subaru Impreza WRX STI No.40 in the WRC2 Production Cup category. Earlier this season the crew won bronze for the 2d stage in snowy Sweden and for the 4th stage in Portugal, and silver for the 6th stage of the Acropolis rally.
