Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan has officially received an invitation from the International Olympic Committee to participate in the 2026 Winter Olympics, set to take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
According to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kazakhstan, the IOC extended the invitation as part of its standard procedure, confirming the country’s participation in the world's most prestigious winter sports event.
Kazakhstan has been competing in the Winter Olympics since 1994. As a prelude to the 2026 Games, the national team recently took part in the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, where they won 20 medals (4 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze), securing fourth place in the overall standings.

Historically, Kazakhstan has claimed eight Winter Olympic medals, with one gold among them. However, at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the nation’s athletes failed to secure a podium finish.
With preparations now underway, Kazakhstan aims to make a strong impression at the upcoming Games in Italy.
