Tengrinews.kz – The Kazakhstan women's ice hockey team defeated South Korea and won silver at the Asian Games in Harbin.
The Kazakh players dominated their medal rivals with a 3-0 victory. After the first period, the national team was already leading by one goal, and in the final stretch, they scored two more to secure a confident win.
"Kazakhstan's women's ice hockey team has won the silver medal at the Asian Games in Harbin," reports Olimpic.kz.
At the final stage of the women's hockey tournament, teams from Japan, China, Kazakhstan, and South Korea played in a round-robin format. The Kazakh players secured two wins in three matches and, before the last game, were tied on points with Japan but trailed due to head-to-head results.
In the tournament’s final match, Japan will face China.
Previously, Kazakhstan's women's hockey team had only won bronze and gold at the Asian Games. They finished third in 1996, 1999, and 2017, while securing gold in three consecutive Games from 2003 to 2011.

Meanwhile, the men's ice hockey final of the Asian Games is also set to take place today, with Kazakhstan facing Japan for the gold medal.
