The opponents of the Kazakhstanis were the Brazilian duo of Thiago Monteiro and Thiago Wild. In the first set, the Brazilians took a break at 3:3 and calmly brought the case to victory.

In the second set, the rivals were evenly matched most of the time, but at 4:4 the Brazilians managed to break again and take the lead. During the deciding game in the ninth game, Alexander Bublik broke his racket due to a bad shot.

This game was the last one with the participation of Kazakhstani tennis players at the Olympic Games in Paris. Elena Rybakina and Yulia Putintseva withdrew from the competition before it started, and the best representatives of the country in the men's singles ranking lost in the first round.
