Tengrinews.kz – On March 26 in Astana, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Yerbol Khamitov, the champion of the 14th Winter Paralympic Games.
An award ceremony for the champion and his coaches was held at the presidential residence. The President emphasized that the world’s largest competitions were a great success for Kazakhstan. Yerbol Khamitov represented the country, winning gold and bronze medals.

The President noted that the recently adopted new Constitution became a clear demonstration of Kazakhstan’s creative potential.
"The new Constitution, prepared together with the people and for the people, embodies the strength of the national spirit, the desire for unity, our tolerance, and our shared desire to live in a society where law, order, education, science, culture, technology, respect for nature, and, of course, sport hold a leading position. The core of the Basic Law consists of such fundamental principles as Independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state; the legal rights and freedoms of citizens; diligence, responsibility, patriotism; and the comprehensive development of human capital. Thus, the people unitedly supported the constitutional reform. Our citizens voted for the bright future of the country, because the renewed Constitution creates conditions for the development of every person," the President said.
According to Tokayev, the Basic Law defines the development of human capital, education, science, and innovation as strategic priorities of the state.
"Special attention is paid to protecting the health of the nation. The main goal of the Constitution is to protect Independence, Sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of the country, as well as to ensure the rights and freedoms of citizens. An urgent task now is to widely explain and promote the fundamental principles of the Constitution both in our country and abroad. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Kazakh Paralympic athletes, through their outstanding achievements and brilliant victories, make a huge contribution to strengthening the unshakable values of our state," the Head of State noted.
The President also emphasized that every member of the national Paralympic team has proven to the world that Kazakhstan is a country of limitless opportunities. He said that the state provides comprehensive support to the Paralympic movement.

"Last year, four modern inclusive sports complexes began operating in the country. In the coming period, even more such centers will open in all regions. I believe that our sponsors should not stay away from this very important work. In general, the state has begun to pay special attention to supporting the Paralympic movement, and funding for this area has been increased. The determination and unbreakable will of our Paralympic athletes are an example for many and a model for the younger generation. Every member of the national Paralympic team has proven to the world that Kazakhstan is a country of limitless opportunities," Tokayev said.
For high sporting achievements at the 14th Winter Paralympic Games in Italy, the President awarded Yerbol Khamitov the Order of Barys, 3rd Class.

Coaches of the Sports Training Center for Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Vasiliy Kolomiets and Anton Zhdanovich, were awarded the Order of Parasat.
Aslan Tokbayev, coach of the sports club for people with disabilities “Umit” from the North Kazakhstan region, was awarded the Order of Kurmet.
