Kazakhstan boxers won silver and bronze medals at the international tournament in Indonesia, Tengrinews.kz reports. Kanat Turganbayev took the second place in Lightweight category, while Eldos Saidalin was third in Welterweight. Duman Suleimenov also represented Kazakhstan at the tournament but withdrew at the second round. Representatives of 28 countries took part in the President's Cup in Jakarta. They included the leaders of the world non-professional boxing: Russia, China, India, Mongolia, Korea, Australia and Philippines. Japanese team won the tournament by the team score. The tournament was held in eight weight categories for men and five weight categories for women. Kazakhstan sportsmen have been regularly participating in the Indonesian Cup since 1978. Meanwhile Astana is preparing for the World Junior Boxing Championship. The tournament will be held on July 23-30 in Kazakhstan sport complex. Boxers aged 15-16 are allowed to take part in it. Kazakhstan national team will be represented in 13 weight categories. Sportsmen from 50 countries have already confirmed their participation. Kazakhstan has never hosted World Boxing Championships before.
