Kazakh Olympic medalists greeted by huge crowd at Almaty airport

Champions were greeted at the airport by a huge crowd of fans and journalists. There were so many people at the airport that it was practically impossible to move.
Olympic champion Yeldos Smetov with a child in his arms has to navigate through barriers of people.
Fans were waiting for their idols in front of the airport.
Those who couldn't get closer climbed onto the escalators, trying to take a good photo.
Some even climbed onto a friend's shoulders to get a better view of the athletes' arrival.
Judokas Yeldos Smetov and Gusman Kyrgyzbayev brought Kazakhstan its first medals at the Paris Olympics. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Kazakh judoka Yeldos Smetov on his victory at the Olympic Games in Paris.
