Kazakh judoka wins gold at Youth Olympics in Nanjing

Kazakhstani judoka Baurzhan Zhauyntayev has won the gold medal at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in China, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Kazakhstani judoka Baurzhan Zhauyntayev has won the gold medal at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in China, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

In the semi-finals, the Kazakh judoka won over Oguzhan Karacha in the 55 kg weight category. In the finals, Zhauyntayev faced Azeri Natig Gurbanali.

The Summer Youth Olympic Games kicked off in Chinese Nanjing on August 17. The competition gathered over 3700 young sportsmen from 14 to 18 y.o. from 204 countries. The Youth Olympic Games are includes in 31 sports. The games will end on August 28.

Kazakhstan is represented by 51 sportsmen in Nanjing.
