Kazakh cyclist from Astana team arrested in Nice took no drugs

Results of tests of Kazakhstan cyclists Valentin Iglinskiy, who was arrested in Nice for speeding, showed that he took no drug, Astana team fan site reports referring to the official website of the team. “The cyclist indeed overspeeded. And his alcohol test was positive. But Iglinskiy took no drugs, as his saliva test confirmed,” the report says. The representative of the team also rebutted the statements of French media that Iglinskiy was detained by the police when going back from a party at Aleksandr Vinokurov’s place. Management of Astana team is going to wait for the results of the blood test and them sue the media that was spreading the false information. Valentin Iglinskiy, a Kazakh cyclist of Astana team was arrested by French police in Nice for speeding. His blood test showed excess alcohol content. Iglinskiy admitted overspeeding and driving while drunk, but denies us of drugs. Doping commissioners from the UCI (International Cycling Union) have already taken his blood for a doping test. Results of the test are not ready yet.
