Tengrinews.kz - The flag of Kazakhstan's boxer Valentina Khalzova peeled off her uniform during an interview after her match at the Paris Olympic Games.
The incident occurred on August 1, after Khaltzova’s debut fight at the Games in France. The Ministry of Tourism and Sport has provided an explanation.
"The incident with the uniform of athlete Valentina Khaylzova is an isolated case and does not reflect the overall quality of the uniforms," said the Committee of Sport and Physical Education of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the national team’s uniforms were produced in accordance with all international standards.
"Due to significant moisture loss during intense physical activity, unstitched accessories can become deformed. Stitching accessories onto training uniforms is generally avoided to prevent chafing and ensure maximum comfort during training," the committee stated.
It is also noted that sports uniforms must be replaced annually due to their relatively short lifespan.
