Kazakh professional boxer Kanat Islam has celebrated his 16th win by TKOing Basilio Silva from the Dominican Republic, reports Tengrinews citing Vesti.kz.
Islam (WP16/KO14) outclassed Silva (WP 17/ KO 15) in his home ring in the Dominican Republic. Silva was losing with 45:50;45:49;45:49 points to Islam. In the fourth round, the Kazakh knockdowned his opponent and then the referee announced a TKO in the 6th round. Kanat Islam may have less experience than Silva, but he proved himself to be unbeaten with zero bouts lost. Silva’s total record has 29 bouts out of which he won 17 and lost 12.
29 y.o Islam is wittily called “GGG’s long lost brother” on boxingscene.com forum. Rumors of their blood ties are of course not true, but Islam did have 3 impressive fights in 2 month time.
Before going pro Kanat Islam was part of the Astana Arlans boxing team in WSB. He became a professional boxer in September 2012. The Kazakh trains in Pahokee, Florida.
