Judo: Kazakhstan team wins 1st place at World Grand-Prix

The national judo team of Kazakhstan has won the first place by medal count at the World Grand-Prix that was held on September 28-29 in the Baluan Sholak Palace of Culture and Sports in Almaty city, Vesti.kz reports. The Kazakhstan team gained a total of 17 medals at the tournament, including 5 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals. The local audience's favorite athlete Maxim Rakov won over Brazilian Rafael Buzakarini in his final fight on September 29. The judoka represents the -100kg weight division. Islam Bozayev (-90kg), Gulzhan Issanova (+78kg), Yeldos Smetov (-60kg) and Yeldos Zhumakanov (-66kg), all of them from Kazakhstan, also won gold medals at the Grand-Prix in Almaty.
