Kazahstan’s two-time Olympic weightlifting champion Ilya Ilyin will take part in the bike ride to be held in Almaty on September 16, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. Another Olympic champion of Kazakhstan - cyclist Alexandre Vinokourov - told Astanafans.com website: “We will give a bicycle to Ilya. He will participate in the bike ride that will be held in Almaty on September 16.” Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Akim (Mayor) of Almaty will also take part in the bike ride, along with representatives of different cycling schools and Masters of Sport in cycling. The bike ride will start at the crossing of Al-Farabi Avenue and Tattimbet Street on September 16 at 08:30 a.m. Astana time and will finish at Abay Avenue in front of the Almaty Circus.
