Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of National Economy Azamat Amrin commented on the high ticket prices for the upcoming Champions League match between Almaty’s Kairat and Real Madrid, which reached up to 250,000 tenge.
“This is the market. Fans will buy tickets regardless of the price. They live for this. So in my opinion, if a person has the means – they’ll buy,” Amrin said when asked in the Senate corridors about the fairness of ticket costs.
Journalists also asked whether stadium conditions in Almaty justified such prices. The vice minister responded that “all our stadiums meet international standards”.
“If they didn’t, the match wouldn’t be held. Before organizing such games, compliance with standards is always checked. If it’s not met, there won’t be a match,” he said.
On the question of who he believed would win – Real Madrid or Kairat – Amrin added: “There can always be a miracle.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade and Integration stated it cannot interfere with ticket sales policies for the Champions League fixture.
The match will take place on September 30 at the Central Stadium in Almaty.
