Ice Hockey: Kazakhstan looses to Hungary in World Championship

The Kazakhstan national men's ice hockey team has lost to the Hungarian team with the score of 1:2 in the World Championship that is being held in Budapest. Kazakhstan TV Channel aired the match that took place on April 17.

Barys hockey club forward Roman Starchenko delivered the only Kazakhstan puck into the hosting team’s gates. It is the first defeat for Kazakhstan hockey players. Earlier Kazakhstan’s team won over Japan and UK. The team coached by Vladimir Krikunov will play their next match against South Korea on April 19 and against Italy on April 20. The World Ice Hockey Championship in Division I is being held on April 14-20 in Budapest and Donetsk. Kazkahstan’s team plays in A Group and if it is ranked first or second overall, it will qualify for the TOP-Division 2014 World Ice Hockey Championship.
