Professional ice hockey forward Nikolay Antropov for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL) will sign a contract with Kazakhstan's Barys hockey club, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the Astana hockey club’s press-service.
He is expected to sign the contract in September. Antropov will join his new team in Moscow where Barys is going to play against Russia’s CSKA as part of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). However Antropov, who was born in Kazakhstan city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, won’t be able to take part in the match, because he won’t be listed in the team’s entry form. The forward will play his debut match as part of Barys against Czech Lev.
Antropov will play in Barys club till the end of the season, according to the terms of his contract, provided that NHL lockout won’t finish earlier. If the hockey player doesn’t return to the Winnipeg Jets he will play for Kazakhstan national team.
