Kazakhstan tennis player Andrey Golubev sucessfully qualified into the main tournament of Australia Open, Sportlive.kz writes. The sportsman won over Belgian Yannick Mertens 6:1, 6:3 in the final game of the qualification round. Earlier Kazakhstan player won 6:4, 6:4 over Moldavian sportsman Radu Albot. Golubev was the only Kazakhstan tennis player who won in Australia Open qualification. Yuriy Schukin, Yaroslava Shvedova and Sesil Karatancheva dropped out of the qualification rounds. Kazakhstan players Mikhail Kukushkin, Kseniya Pervak and Galina Voskoboyeva will also play in the main stage of the tournament. In the first round Pervak will play against the last year’s finalist of Australia Open and the winner of Roland Garros-2011 Na Li from China. Galina Voskoboyeva will play against Yanina Wickmayer from Belgium. Mikhail Kukushkin will play against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Andrey Golubev will play against Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the first round.
