Australian professional boxer Daniel Geale claims that he knows the weaknesses of his next opponent Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
According to the Aussie boxer, GGG has “got good feet, good hands, great hand-eye coordination”.
“He has plenty of strength. (…) But he does drop his guard a little bit as well. He’s there to be hit. He does rely on that power. He knows that he hurts people, and he doesn't’ worry about defense probably as much. And another weakness as well, I guess he hasn’t been in hard 12-round fights,” Geale said.
Undefeated WBA and IBO champion Golovkin will defend his title on July 26 at Madison Square Garden. The Kazakhstani boxer has 29 wins and 26 KOs. This will be Golovkin’s 11th defence of his WBA title.
Earlier, Golovkin’s team requested WBA to postpone the mandatory fight against Australian boxer Jarrod Fletcher to fight against Geale. In turn, Geale had a fight against Mathew McLean. The fight was postponed due to McLean’s injury. As for Golovkin, the Kazakh boxer was going to fight against Julio Caesar Chavez Jr, but Chavez refused to fight because he was not happy with the financial side of the deal.
