Kazakhstani middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan continues his training for the upcoming fight against an American southpaw Willie Monroe Jr, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
Golovkin is currently training at the Big Bear training camp in California with Joel Diaz Jr.
“Golovkin is very humble. That is what I like about him. He is like a big brother for me. (…) Gennady can outbox any (fighter). He is a great boxer. (…) He is very solid,” Diaz told Chris Robinson in an interview.

For the upcoming fight, Golovkin will be sporting a new mouthpiece made by The Mouth Piece Guy. The new one embraces Golovkin’s current love for Mexican style.
Earlier, Monroe talked about Golovkin's concerns and the upcoming fight.
“My arms are a lot longer than his, so I have some physical advantages. But if you watch the staredown between me and Triple G, look at his eyes, man. He looks a little concerned,” Monroe told FightHype.
But for Golovkin and his “Mexican style” boxing Monroe does not seem a serious opponent. The main difference for orthodox Triple G will be Monroe’s southpaw boxing.
Golovkin faces Monroe on May 16 at The Forum in Los Angeles. So far, the Golovkin-Monroe fight has sold over 5 thousand tickets out of the 13 thousand available.
