WBA, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, has expressed his readiness to change his weight category for a big fight, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
In an interview with Jim Lampley from The Fight Game, Golovkin talked about going up or down in weight for a fight with a really serious opponent.
“I’m concentrating on the middleweight division at the moment. Why not to change the weight category for a big fight? If it's a big fight in the super middleweight or in light middleweight, then I am ready. In a PPV fight I am ready to face any opponent,” Golovkin said.
Earlier, GGG said he wanted to have a PPV fight in 2015. “Who are the PPV boxers? Certainly they are Miguel (Cotto), Saul Alvarez and Chavez Jr. It does not matter who will be the first (opponent),” Golovkin added.
Golovkin’s next fight is scheduled to February 21, 2015 in Monte Carlo. The 32 y.o. boxer will face a British boxer Martin Murray.
