Kazakhstan boxer Gennady Golovkin has retained his place in the Pound for Pound (P4P) rating of The Ring magazine, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
The WBA Super, WBC Interim and IBO middleweight champion from Kazakhstan holds the fourth place in the P4P rating.
The rating is led by Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0 26 KOs). The Nicaraguan boxer Roman Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KOs) is ranked second after knocking out Edgar Sosa in the 2nd round. He is followed by the Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko (64:3, 53 KOs).
Gonzalez appeared on HBO on the undercard of Golovkin-Monroe fight. Triple G KOed his opponent in the 6th round of the title fight in California on May 16.
Golovkin is returning to the ring in September. Earlier, Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler said that the Kazakhstani boxer was ready to go to the UK to face Carl Froch. Abel Sanchez, Golovkin’s trainer, too, confirmed the possibility of fighting Froch in September.
