WBA (Super) and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan after wrecking the former Aussie champion Daniel Geale in the third round, has challenged WBO champion Peter Quilling and WBC champion Miguele Cotto, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, Golovkin TKOed Geale in the third round. Some commentators said that Golovkin was not exceptional during the fight. There were those who questioned his marketability in the States, as he had not fought against big names in the industry yet. But this Saturday, the Kazakhstani boxer once again defended his WBA belt and finished his 30th fight with a TKO.
Golovkin thanked his opponent noting that Geale showed himself as a really good boxer.
“It is not a game, it is a fight. I love fighting and I want to make a real spectacle on the canvas,” Golovkin said.
Now Golovkin aims to unify titles in the middleweight division. “I want to fight against Cotto and Quillin. Guys, just call me, because I am ready. But first I would like to meet with Cotto,” the Kazakhstani boxer said.
The undefeated boxer from Kazakhstan has never been a big mouth. Back in 2013 he remained calm and composed in response to Curtis Stevens’ provocations. Yet his record speaks for itself. And Golovkin is ready for more.
