K2 Promotion and Golden Gloves have officially announced the fight between WBA (Super), IBO and WBC (Interim) middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and Martin Murray, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
Triple G met his opponent at the press conference in London. Golovkin and Murray will face each other in the ring in Salle des etoiles, Monte Carlo on February 21, 2015.
Earlier, Golovkin spoke about Murray as the best opponent available. “Murray is a strong fellow who had a good victory. Domenico Spada is a difficult opponent and his style is not an easy one to fight against. But Murray did his best and won the fight. I think, that a fight against Murray is a good fight for us,” Golovkin said.

The undefeated Kazakhstani boxer added that his team has not been able to agree on a fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr or Saul “Canelo” Alvarez yet.
In turn, Alvarez said that he wanted to fight against Golovkin.
“Golovkin is a great fighter, very strong, and at this time everyone is afraid of him because he is knocking everyone out. But, you also have to take a look at who he is knocking out. The most important thing is that he is a great fighter. I did some sparring with him, he is very strong. Yes, I’d like to (fight him),” Canelo said.
