In the updated rating Top 25 Pound-for-Pound Boxers After Cotto vs. Alvarez prepared by Bleacher Report, Tripe G (34-0, 31 KOs) occupies the 4th place. The Kazakhstani was previously ranked 5th. In his last fight, Golovkin stopped the Canadian David Lemiuex earning an additional IBF middleweight title.
Meanwhile, the holder of the WBC middleweight title Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) jumped from the 12th to the 7th place after defeating Cotto by decision. Cotto dropped from the 8th place to the 14th after loosing his WBC title to the Mexican puncher in Las Vegas this past weekend.
According to the website, Golovkin will possibly face Canelo or the winner of the Andy Lee-Billy Joe Saunders.
