Gennady Golovkin and Floyd Maywether Jr were chosen as the Fighters of the First Half of 2015 by CBS Sports, Tengrinews reports.

Gennady Golovkin and Floyd Maywether Jr were chosen as the Fighters of the First Half of 2015 by CBS Sports, Tengrinews reports.

WBA Super, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion Golovkin of Kazakhstan was selected for a combination of impressive wins, while WBO welterweight champion Mayweather was picked for the Fight of the Century against Manny Pacquaio.

After the fight against Mayweather, Pacquaio went down in the Pound for pound (ESPN) rating giving way to Golovkin.  As a result, Golovkin occupied the third place, while Pacquaio landed on the fourth place of the P4P.

Earlier, CBS Sports reported that Mayweather was stripped of his WBO title for not following the rules of the World Boxing Organization.
