Kazakhstan's Taraz Football Club has signed a one-year contract with Portugal’s Manuel Curto, Vesti.kz reports. The 26-y.o. midfielder has been training in S.L.Benfica where he played as part of a youth squad. Then he was caped for Estrela Amadora and played for little-known Portuguese clubs, such as Torreense, Pinhalnovense, Rio Maior and Estoril. He spent his last season in Naval FC. Curto has also played for Portugal’s national team since he was 17 and took part in the 2003 European Football Championship where he scored one goal. Curto’s team won the European Cup then by winning over Spain’s team. Would-be football stars Miguel Veloso and Joao Moutinho played along with Curto as part of the Portuguese national team.
