The 38th UEFA (Union of European Footbal Association) Congress will be held in Astana in March 2014. The UEFA Executive Committee made this decision on December 6, 2012 during a meeting in Lausanne, Kazakhstan Football Federation press-service reported calling this decision a historical one. This made Kazakhstan the first CIS (post-soviet) country entitled to host a meeting of top-ranking managers of the European Football Union. The Congress usually elects UEFA President and Executive Committee members. The Congress is responsible for the most essential administrative, financial and other decisions regarding development of European football. The UEFA Congress is the UEFA's supreme controlling organ. The Congress is held every year. The next UEFA Congress will take place in London on May 24, 2013.
