The second-leg match was held on August 8 at Laugardalsvollur stadium in Reykjavik, Iceland. The captain of the Icelandic team Finnur Margeirsson scored the goal on the 27th minute. The score didn't change until the regulation time run out, and the teams moved on into the overtime period. There was no winner in the overtime period. Then Aktobe team players succeeded in the penalty shootout. The victory was secured by a direct shot of Kazakhstan's midfielder Timur Kapadze. On August 1 four-time champion of Kazakhstan FC Aktobe played the first-leg match against Iceland's Breioablik. The game ended with the score of 1:0. The winning goal was scored by Kazakhstan's midfielder Marat Khairullin. After two matches against Iceland's Breioablik the chief coach of FC Aktobe Vladimir Nikitenko said that both goalkeepers showed a high level of professionalism. "Our team had territorial advantage. A lot of scoring chances weren't successful because of the rival's goalkeeper saves. But our goalkeeper also performed well," Nikitenko said.
