Kazakhstan Astana team cyclist Maksim Iglinskiy wishes to win a Tour de France stage, Tengrinews.kz reports. “The next race I will participate in is Tour of Belgium , it will kick off on May 23. Then I will ride in Dauphine Libere race that I will compete to win, and then I will fight to win a Tour de France stage. I had always dreamed of winning a Tour de France stage,” Iglinskiy said during the press-conference that was held in Astana. Besides, the Astana team’s cyclist is going to win the World Championship race. According to him the Championship fits him well because its route is similar to the hilly Belgium classical routes. “It is a common thing that cyclists want to win the World Championship. The one who wins the wright to put on the bright colored jersey can ride in it for the whole year long, it is very prestigious. Yes, I had the thoughts, too, and I will be training for the Championship. When I participated in Amstel (Amstel Gold Race ) I came 11th and I had good chances of winning,” the cyclists said. At the press-conference Iglinskiy dispersed the rumors that appeared in the papers that his Astana team’s hotel room nwas searched after his victory in Liege-Bastogne-Liege race. Iglinskiy won the prestigious one-day Liege-Bastogne-Liege race managing to finish it in 6:43:52. According to the cyclist, Alexandre Vinokourov’s advice helped him to reach the finishing line first.
