Fredrik Kessiakoff of Sweden who cycles for Kazakhstan Pro Team Astana finished second in the Giro dell’Emilia one-day race that was held in Bologna, Italy, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. Colombia’s Nairo Quintana Rojas of Movistar team won the 193-kilometer race. Italy’s Franco Pellizotti of Androni Giocattoli team finished third. Earlier Pro Team Astana manager Giuseppe Martinelli said that Giro dell’Emilia was the last European race for Astana team this season. “Giro dell’Emilia will be our last European race. We’d like to finish the season on a good note. Taking into account the race’s hilly profile I count on Kessiakoff, he is in a good shape now. Besides his third place in the Milan-Turin race he had a number of excellent results recently, so I count on him to win an even higher place,” Martinelli said. Giro dell'Emilia is a late season road bicycle race held annually in Italy.
