Italy’s Vincenzo Nibali, Kazakhstan’s Astana team’s cyclist, won the Tirreno-Adriatico marathon cycling race that was held in Italy between the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts, Vesti.kz reports. Nibali came 12th in the last stage of the seven-day race but retained his first line in the Tirreno-Adriatico overall ranking. British Chris Froome (Team Sky) became second and Spanish Alberto Contador (Saxo-Tinkoff, ex-cyclist of Astana team) was third. German cyclist Tony Martin (Omega-Pharma Quickstep) won the individual time trial, he covered the distance of the last stage in 10 minutes and 25 seconds. Nibali showed the best result among Astana team’s cyclists. He was 26 seconds behind Martin. The 28-y.o. Italian cyclist won Tirreno-Adriatico race for the second year in a row.
