Cycling: Astana leader Nibali 2nd at Vuelta's 14th stage

The captain of Kazakhstan cycling team Astana Vincenzo Nibali finished the 14th stage of Vuelta super marathon race in the 2nd place, Vesti.kz reports. Cannondale's young rider Daniele Ratto won the 155.7km Andorra - Collada de la Gallina stage from the race leader Vincenzo Nibali of Astana by three minutes 53 seconds. Nibali was dogging Chris Horner of RadioShack-Leopard during the steep final ascent and then broke away to take the second place. Horner came third, two seconds after Nibali. Nibali retained his lead in the Vuelta after the 14th stage while Horner is in the second place overall 50 seconds behind Nibali. Alejandro Valverde of Movistar finished the stage sixth and was third overall 1:42 behind the leader. “Today was another step forward, but nothing is finished yet,” said Nibali after the stage. “I made some gains on Valverde and Rodriguez, but they have strong teams, and they are still there."
