Cycling: Astana cyclist won 7th stage of Giro d’Italia race

Italian Paolo Tiralongo from Astana cycling team won the seventh stage of Giro d’Italia 2012 marathon cycling race, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. Tiralongo along with another Italian cyclist Michele Scarponi left behind the other cyclists one kilometer ahead of the finishing line. The two leaders competed until the finish where Astana’s Tiralongo claimed his stage victory. Frank Schleck came third at the 7th stage of Giro d’Italia. This victory propelled Tiralongo to the second line of the general classification of the race putting his behind Canadian Ryder Hesjedal. Roman Kreuziger, Czech cyclist and Astana’s leader was ranked seventh in the general ranking. He was 35 seconds behind the leader.
