Cycling: Astana cyclist leads Tirreno-Adriatico overall ranking

Italian cyclist Vincenzo Nibali from Kazakhstan's Astana team became the leader of the Tirreno-Adriatico marathon cycling race after the next-to-last stage, Vesti.kz reports. The leader of the Kazakhstan team came second in the next-to-last stage losing only to Slovakian Peter Sagan from Cannondale. Spanish Joaquim Rodriguez from Katyusha team came third. Nibali was 34 seconds ahead of British Chris Froome (Team Sky), Spanish 37 seconds ahead of Joaquim Rodriguez (Katyusha), 48 seconds of Spanish Alberto Contador (Saxo - Tinkoff) and 58 seconds ahead of Polish Mikhail Kvyatkovsky (Omega Pharma - Quick-Step) in the overall standing of the race. The individual time trial is held on March 12 and the winner of the marathon race will be known after the race.
