Cycling: Astana capitan retains leadership at Giro d’Italia before rest day

Capitan of the Kazakhstan Astana team Italian Vincenzo Nibali came second at the 14th stage and seventh at the 15th stage of the Giro d’Italia super marathon cycling race, Vesti.kz reports. Italian Mauro Santambrogio from Vini Fantini won the 14th stage. Colombian Carlos Betancur from Ag2R La Mondiale came third. The distance of the stage was cut because of bad weather. Movistar's Italian Giovanni Visconti was the winner of 15th stage, it took him 4 hours 40 minuts and 52 seconds to cover the distance of 149 km from Cesana Torinese to Col du Galibier. Ag2R's Carlos Betancur came second and Polish Przemyslaw Niemiec from Lampre-Merida came third. Nibali is still the leader in the general classification. Australian Evans from BMC (+1,26) and Team Sky's Rigoberto Uran (+2:46) remain in the second and third places accordingly. There are six more stages of the Giro d’Italia super marathon cycling race. The race will finish on May 26 in Brescia.
