British promoter Eddie Hearn said that 37 y.o. Carl Froch would probably retire from boxing, Tengrinews reports citing Boxingscene.com.

But if Froch decides to continue his boxing career, then a fight against undefeated Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan will probably take place. According to Hearn, who represents Froch, the British former world champion was interested in facing Triple G, but had not decided yet whether he was continuing his career in boxing.

"I've spoken to Golovkin’s manager Tom Loeffler and Carl still hasn't decided if he's fighting again yet. If he does fight again, there's a very good chance it will be against Golovkin, but at the moment there's nothing. I think now there's a strong possibility he will return. People are saying he has to hurry up and make his mind up, but he will make his mind when he wants to," Hearn said.

"There’s also the possibility of a big domestic fight against James DeGale for a world title to consider, but my gut feeling is that he will not fight again. Boxing fans would love to see him fight again, but if he hasn't got the desire he definitely shouldn't get back in the ring again. If he wants to fight again he will, if doesn't, what a way to go out last time against Groves in front of 80 000 at Wembley," the promoter added.

Froch holds WBA Super World Super Middleweight and IBF World Super Middleweight titles. On May 31, 2014 Froch TKOed Geogre Groves in the 8th round.

Gennady Golovkon, an undefeated professional boxer from Kazakhstan who trains and fights in the United States, is the reigning WBA and IBO middleweight champion. He holds the highest KO ratio in middleweight championship history with a 90.9% knockout percentage. On May 16, 2015, Golovkin dropped Willie Monroe Jr three times - twice in the second round and once in the sixth round. After the third knockdown battered Monroe refused to continue the fight giving Golovkin his 20th consecutive knockout.
