Kazakhstan’s boxer Gennady Golovkin has been selected the January boxer by the ratings committee of the WBA (World Boxing Association), Vesti.kz reports. He got this award thanks to his spectacular victory over American Gabriel Rosado. Kazakhstan's Golovkin defeated Gabriel Rosado by technical knockout in round seven on January 19 in New York City. Golovkin defended his WBA and WBO champion titles by winning this fight. The Kazakhstan’s boxer will fight against 37-y.o. Japanese Nobuhiro Ishida on March 30 in Monte Carlo (Monaco). Golovkin wants schedule fights against former and current world champions Germany’s Felix Sturm, Australia’s Daniel Geale and British Darren Barker for this season.
